Glossary: What do these RedSeed terms mean?
Active
One of the four statuses of a trainee's course progress. The trainee is currently in process of completing a course. Displayed as a dark grey bar in the Trainee or Coach and Admin dashboard. The other three statuses are Complete, Inactive and Not Started.
Administrator
A user type with a predefined set of permissions allocated to allow editing users and the issuing of certificates among various other things.
Certificate
On completion of a course exam, a PDF certificate is automatically generated for the trainee if there is a certificate allocated for the course.
Coach (Manager)
A user type associated with being a location manager — think region, store or department manager. They're responsible for coaching trainees through courses that have workbook marking and/or practical activities. Coaches also have access to the Dashboard and the reporting suite. They can be enrolled in courses too - just like a trainee!
Coach and Admin Dashboard
This dashboard is for coaches, managers, and administrators. It displays an overview of all current training for all regions, stores and trainees the coach has visibility of, as well as access to user management (add, edit, archive). Coaches also have access to marking and coaching and can generate and view reports.
Complete
One of the four statuses of a trainee's course progress. The trainee has completed the course. This is displayed as a red bar in the Trainee, Coach and Admin dashboard. The other three statuses are Active, Inactive and Not Started.
Course
A course a trainee can be enrolled in.
Enrolment
The process of assigning a course to the trainee.

Exam
The final session of the course consists generally of randomised multi-choice questions, which will consist of the following parameters: time to complete, percentage pass mark and the number of attempts allowed.
Inactive
One of the four statuses of a trainee's course progress. The trainee is currently inactive, i.e. they have not completed any training within the last x number days. The number of days before a trainee becomes inactive in a course is generally set between 7 and 10 days. Inactivity is displayed as a light grey bar along with a triangle alert icon on the Trainee dashboard and the Coach and Admin dashboard. The other three statuses are Complete, Active and Not Started.
Inactivity Alerts
On becoming inactive in a course the trainee will show in the inactivity alert list on the Coach and Admin dashboard. Inactivity alerts can be generated by any Admin or HR user on the same level or any level above the trainee's level location. These inactivity alerts are sent directly to the inactive user via email and are logged in the system.
Location
The region, store, branch or department the user is associated with. This is generally a replication of the company's physical or organisational structure and directly assigns a user's permissions.
Login
The process of logging into the RedSeed Training mode or Coach and Admin mode. This requires the user to enter their username, or email, and their password.
Notifications
Automated emails from the RedSeed system are sent either automatically to the user or based on a manager's action e.g. A workbook session being marked as complete. RedSeed will also send inactivity alerts when a user has been inactive for a certain period of time or if they haven't started a course they're enrolled in.
Not Started
One of the four statuses of a trainee's course progress. The trainee has not started training. Not Started is displayed as a grey bar and white bar in the Trainee or Coach and Admin dashboard. The other three statuses are Complete, Active and Inactive.
Password
A password is required to log in to the RedSeed system.
Practical Activity
A course requirement for a trainee to complete with their coach prior to a session being marked as complete. This is the 'on the floor' demonstration of the practical techniques they have learnt within the current session.
Role
Is a defined set of customisable roles with an organisation. For example, assistant manager, stockroom, sales assistant. These roles allow for more granularity within the results of reports.
SkillsCheck
A SkillsCheck is an interactive way for trainees to demonstrate the knowledge they have learnt in a course to their Coach.
Trainee
A RedSeed user type - a trainee type user can only be enrolled in training they don't see the RedSeed dashboard or the reporting suite.
Username
The unique username for each and every user account with the system.
User
A user within RedSeed. They can be defined as either an Administrator, Coach / Manager, or Trainee.
Workbook Question
Either a multi-choice question, long-answer question (requiring workbook marking), or a custom question type.
Workbook Marking
The process of a marking manager marking a trainee's workbook answers. Each question has a defined model answer and each trainee's answer can be marked as either correct or incorrect as well as having a comment associated with it.
